Playa Caribe, Condo #12

I really love how relaxed this place was! It was clean and beautiful and a super comfortable stay. We stayed in 3 different rentals while we were in Mexico and this one was my favorite!
My only complaint is that I received check in info the morning of which was a little stressful because I expected to get it much earlier and no one messaged me back on the VRBO app.

great condo in great location

It is a wonderful place. The building manager Augustin and Pablo were so helpful, making sure we had everything we needed it was a joy to be there. I look forward to visiting again.

This condo was awesome. The location is just amazing and I highly recommend staying here.

The unit itself is very clean and it has a lot of charm with all the decor. The views from the balcony are amazing. The water had seaweed for a few days but then it moved right along. Keep in mind the seaweed is an important part of the ocean ecosystem and a reason the turtles live here so it didn't bother us. We snorkeled and saw rays and all kinds of amazing fish.

We felt very safe as this part of the area is gated and you must have a pass to enter. You could walk to the 2 main restaurants and the market right across the street was awesome. The staff were great and helpful.

Our family of four cannot wait to return!

I celebrated my retirement with 3 friends and what an amazing time. Playa Caribe #12 was very well appointed. I've never stayed in a rental with so many tools in the kitchen! The unit is beautifully decorated and the Lanai had amazing views. The Staff on site were so helpful and the maid was such a sweetie. We enjoyed La Lunita, and all the restaurants in Akumal. Snorkeling in Yal-Ku Lagoon is a must as it is just down the road. We rented a car, but I think on my next visit, I will just rent a bike to get around. You can walk to town. It is only about 20 minutes. If you are planning to eat in for breakfast and lunch, I would suggest stopping at the Super Chedrau in Peurta Adventuras on your way to Akumal. Way cheaper than the Super Chomak in Akumal. I would definitely stay at Playa Caribe again, but I will stay in a unit that is not on the top floor!! Way too many stairs for us.

We stayed in Akumal a few times. This trip was the 1st one to stay at Playa Caribe. We stayed in Unit #12 on the top floor. The whole complex is very well maintained and this unit, along with the other ones we saw, were well decorated. Right in the middle of Half-Moon bay. We would definitely stay here again!

Safe, lovely beach location. Walking distance to restaurants.

Our condo was perfect. Augustine was available and helpful for everything we could possibly need. The convenience store almost directly across the street is sooo convenient for quick snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and any needs that don't warrant a walk to town. The views are incredible. This building is our favorite in Akumal, and we now have a new favorite unit...#12! Yes, there is a seaweed season and it's a pain and the beach has washed out a little, but it's a cycle...we will be back!

The only inconvenience was climbing four sets of stairs. I'm not sure if we knew beforehand that there would be no elevator. We were capable of the climb, but feel this should be disclosed to future tenants.

We have been coming to Akumal for 12 years and have spent most of them at Playa is beautiful, clean and a perfect setting for a perfect vacation...the staff has always been very helpful and gracious...we look forward to many more years...
