Playa Caribe, Condo #4

We stayed in condo #4 for 6 nights and had a great time. The location, staff and condo were excellent, and Augustine was helpful! I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet beach town vacation.

We had a pleasant stay in #4 Playa Caribe. The staff is great and the unit very comfortable and nicely decorated. The unit could use a few more dishes, some glasses and cups were chipped. Needs another cutting board. There were lots of containers with lids. They left a few fruits and things which was a nice touch. Beautiful views. The beach however is very short so not a lot of room with others. Only one palapa also. Nice pool too. All in all, good place but if you like to be on the beach, not the greatest pick.

Everything about the condo was great. The unit was immaculate with all amenities including a well stocked welcome basket with fresh fruits, snacks and coffee. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the beautiful ocean view. Finally, Augustine and the staff were very helpful in providing advice, making arrangements, and maintaining the property and keeping the sargassum at bay.

My family stayed at Playa Caribe 4 for a 7 night vacation and couldn’t have been happier. The condo was super clean and the view of the ocean was fantastic. David with Akumal Direct arranged for round trip transfer from the airport. The cleaning lady was exceptional! We only asked once during our stay but it was spotless. The air conditioning and water pressure were spot on. I have nothing but great things to say, and would recommend this condo.

The view from our condo was spectacular. So glad we were on the second floor where we enjoyed the view from our balcony every morning and evening. The condo was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. Very well maintained. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and gorgeous beach. There were several great restaurants nearby, along with lots of activities to choose from - snorkeling and paddle boarding to name a few. We loved this place and will be back for sure!

We loved our stay at Playa Caribe, Condo #4. It is a perfect location right on the beach and within walking distance to shopping and a Yal-Ku Lagoon. Great infinity pool area also with a stunning view of the Caribbean from either the pool or from the balcony. The condo was very clean, has great Wifi and perfect water pressure and temperature. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need to cook meals in the condo. The complimentary bowl of fruit, popcorn and other snacks was a very nice touch also. Very close to many beautiful cenotes in the area also. We would highly recommend Playa Caribe, Condo #4, for your visit to Akumal.

Playa Caribe was the perfect location for our first visit to Akumal.
It is centrally located in Half Moon Bay, within walking distance to great restaurants, a small market, Ya-Kul Lagoon and more.
The condo itself was perfect, with a well stocked kitchen (we even had coffee!) and everything we needed for our family of four, including beach towels, coolers, and umbrellas. The beds were super comfortable, and we all loved the beautifully tiled showers with the best water pressure we have ever experienced.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and our neighbors downstairs were extremely helpful with making recommendations for restaurants and activities. It’s also nice to have such ample parking on the property.
Make sure to check out the rooftop patio, with the best view of Half Moon Bay.
Yes, there is seaweed, but you can walk down the beach 5 houses away and snorkel in clear waters, or access Akumal Bat thru Lol-Ha Restaurant.
We will be back to Playa Caribe #4!

This was my 2nd stay at Playa Caribe. I love staying there cuz the staff is amazing and I feel really safe with the nighttime security. The condo is a 5 minute walk to two great restaurants and a 20 minute walk to several more in town. My favorite is Taverna for the nummy Italian food and ambiance and coming in 2nd is Turtle Bay so I can watch NFL football! Playa Caribe #4 is the most appointed condo I have ever stayed in. Tupperware containers, bag clips, wine vac, etc. AC and WiFi worked great. Our microwave burned up and the management had a new one for us within minutes. My only disappointment is that the pictures don’t match the condo. Not a major thing. Different cushions and bedspreads, art work etc. But I was really disappointed the patio did not have a regular table with chairs. They have a nice patio set instead. I always pick units with tables so I can sit and eat outside so a bit of a bummer. Also the toaster oven needs to replaced the knobs kept coming off! It was very clean and our maid Patricia was awesome. We left dishes for her everyday!! Loved that were tables around the pool. Spent most of my time hanging out there. Been coming to Akumal for 20 years and Playa Caribe has become my favorite place to stay.

We really enjoyed the beautiful Villa #4. Amazing views, good communication from David the concierge. Cleaning staff was very good. The only complaint I have is that someone was in our room when we arrived at midnight. The security guard let them into our room when there was a clearly written note on the front door of the office stating my name, condo number, and that it was unlocked for us to go into since it was after hours. We got it resolved, but I would suggest a lock box system for late arriving guests to avoid confusion, and better communication between front office staff and security. Also for security purposes I would have felt safer if there wasn’t a note for the public to read with my name and room number on display. Other than this mishap we really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to close screen door on patio because a bird flew into our room and pooped everywhere! Our bad. Also renting a golf cart was a great way to get around.

I have stayed in this unit many times & it is our favorite. The kitchen is well supplied for light cooking. The beds are comfy, and the unit decorated with a Mexican Zen flair. The property is well kept and has security at night. The area has some nice dining options that you can walk too. I could sit on the porch for hours just taking in the gentle waves while looking for marine life. We will defiantly be booking #4 again in the near future.

The condo is one of the most beautiful we've ever stayed in. The design and the little details in the decor are amazing. The condo is also stocked with everything you need, from cookware, glasses, cups, TP, paper towels, spices etc. It is within walking distance to Yal Ku lagoon, which is why we chose it in the first place. Unfortunately, the sargassum in Akumal at the time of our stay (mid May) was awful, which caused us not to be able to get into the sea. The smell was really, really strong too, to the point that it was basically impossible to be outside. The managers of the condo kindly informed of the situation weeks before we arrived though, so we were aware.

We loved everything about our stay... listening to ocean waves at night, a beautiful, well-stocked condo and quiet location. Walking distance to some stores and restaurants, even massage place. We hope to be back one day!

Our time here was spent relaxing in a beautiful room with views we could stare at for hours. We had wonderful people that cleaned our room as often as we needed. The property manager was always helpful. The pool and beach out front was clean and we could snorkel right from the beach. We enjoyed all the surrounding restaurants. Never had a bad meal. All food was delicious!

The property was clean, roomy, and had an excellent location. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. The pool and beach area were awesome. I would definitely recommend to others.

We had an ABSOLUTELY wonderful holiday on Half Moon Bay staying in #4 Playa Caribe. The condo was perfect for our family of 4 including two teenagers. The condo was very attractively decorated, had wonderful views, and was a real delight at the end of a long day on the beach or touring around. The sound of the waves was so soothing, even with the doors closed. The daily maid service (included in price) was very much appreciated. We also loved that each bedroom had it's own bath.

We will definitely stay there again

We had a wonderful stay at the Playa Caribe. The staff was very responsive to our needs and we had an overall wonderful family vacation.

I can't say enough.about this.property. it is nicer than the photos can portray. The bedrooms are very spacious with large closets and wonderful bath. The design elements along with the attention to decor and lighting made the experience extra special. The common areas are spacious and well appointed. Everything you could ever need is at hand. The view is amazing and a constant source of pleasure. It is located in a nice area with a very nice and convenient beach bar nearby.We rented a.golf cart which I would recommend. It is not far from the main village but we did enough walking on the beach and a hot walk into town was not on my bucket list.The staff is very responsive and the housekeeper, Patricia is very sweet and took wonderful care of us.You will not be disappointedEnjoy it as much as we did.is a gem

Arriving in Playa Caribe was easy. We felt safe as we left the freeway and entered the quaint town of Akumal. One two way road takes you though a hotel arch (yes, no typo), the town's square, the natural reserve building, the parking lot for all Akumal activities, and many restaurants on the side, to a security "casilla" and a friendly checkpoint, where you have to know your address. As instructed, we pulled into the Playa Caribe front parking lot, and a security guard checked us in, without delay.The apartment was clean and fresh (AC was on and there was music playing for us)The ocean front balcony was much more than I expected; the place where we had our first cup of coffee, or morning mate in my case.Speaking of breakfast, the small kitchen had all we needed to prepare an omelette or warm up the left over pizzas. I imagine you could cook there, I just don't understand that concept. There are many good places to eat out around Half Moon Bay.The two master suites are magnificent. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious, and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, basic toiletries, clean towels.Throughout the apartment the decor is "Mexican eclectic" with native design masks and deities, local Christian touches (lots of miracle charms, you should google that), and ocean symbolism.If only once, you should go to Akumal Bay and swim with the turtles. Either way you have to pay a "certified snorkel guide" who will take you to the area where the turtles are. They provide some equipment and the mandatory flotation device. You do not need to go to the Parque Natural and pay a lot, by going to the Lol-Ha restaurant thru the Hotel Akumal Caribe (driveway between OXXO market and Chomak market) and paying 450M$ for a palapa for the day (includes two beach chairs and access to clean bathrooms and showers. The restaurant food is great! We really liked the ceviche mixto.Even though its not much advertised, and access is a bit rocky, snorkeling in the bay in front of the building is a wonderful surprise. Don't forget water shoes.The apartment is so quiet, the sound of the waves come though and lulls you. We all came back well rested and with happy hearts.We will most certainly be coming back to Playa Caribe.

As great as our anticipation of our experience and the beautiful pictorial provided of Playa Caribe #4, justice was served. This place was majestic and magnificent by all accounts. Our condo was warm and inviting. We couldn't have been more comfortable in this "no place like home" environment. To wake up to the spectacular view of the beautiful sunrise out on the horizon and each crystal clear night with the stars touching the sea, it couldn't have been more beautiful. The on-site management staff was very warm and always eager to help. The cleaning staff was reliable and kept our condo and grounds spotless. We found the property location to be as good as it gets sitting in the middle of Half Moon Bay. Very quiet and peaceful. At the same time, only minutes away from all the activity one might desire without ever leaving Akumal. Our family of four really felt as though we were treated as VIPs. We truly can't wait to return to Akumal and will do everything possible to plan around the availability to once again stay at Playa Caribe #4

We had a wonderful stay at Playa Caribe. We met our two young adult children for a week and had a lovely time enjoying the Akumal and Tulum area. It was relaxing, easy, and a great family reunion.
